One of the market leaders in displays and exhibition stands, Printdesigns, have announced they recently employed a dedicated seamstress to join the Staffordshire based team.  They decided to hire a sewing specialist to manage complete production of Printdesigns’ soft signage orders, taking Printdesigns into a superior league in the industry.  Printdesigns are now one of a very small number of companies who can offer textile printing up to 3.2m wide with full in-house finishing.

Digital textile printing and finishing is relatively rare in the UK, and by hiring the seamstress Printdesigns can now boast a production time of 1-2 working days, rather than 1-2 weeks which is the case of other companies who outsource sections of the process.

Mark Thompson, Sales Director of Printdesigns said, “We are delighted to be able to say that we are one of few companies with the technology and the specialists needed to fully produce soft signage in-house.  We have spent months testing fabrics and investing in equipment to ensure we manufacture the highest quality textile displays, and now we welcome our new seamstress who will be responsible for sewing and finishing the product.  This puts Printdesigns at the cutting edge of the printing trade, as we are within the handful of businesses who can produce this type of printing in a couple of days compared to a couple of weeks.”

Textile based exhibition stands, also known as soft signage, are fast becoming a popular choice for clients who need lightweight, durable stands for their commercial property or to transport to trade shows and events.  The surface of textiles can be more forgiving than other materials including PVC, vinyl and paper, and textile displays can be printed seamlessly all in one piece.  Other major advantageous elements include having a one piece display without unattractive panel joins, and the ability to fold up the fabric stand without causing any damage.

“Soft signage is a breakthrough concept that is gradually building momentum in the printing and sign making industry, and Printdesigns is leading the way,” added Mark.
