Unlike traditional printed tablecloths and table throws, fitted table covers are bespoke made to fit the exact dimensions of your table. Fitted tablecloth covers are made from 5 pieces of fabric (top and sides) that are sewn to make a box shaped cover that sits over the table. As the slides are flat, you can print content to these faces without pleats or creases on the fabric disrupting the finished look.
What Is A Fitted Printed Table Cover?
Fitted table covers differ to the most common type of printed tablecloths we produce (sometimes referred to as table throws).
Rather than being a flat sheet of fabric that is draped over the table, fitted table covers are made from five faces of material that are sewn together to create a 3 dimensional 'box' that sits over the table.
With a standard tablecloth, the edges of the fabric will pleat or ruffle at the corners making printed content difficult to read. With a fitted table cover, this is not an issue since each face of the cover is flat.
Setting Up Artwork For A Fitted Printed Table Cover
Typically, the artwork for a printed table cover looks something like this. The central section of the artwork fits onto the top of the table and the side panels and front/back panels are folded-inward and sew together to create the finished product.

Optional Knee Hole
The reverse of a fitted table cover can be solid like the front or we can cut out an aperture in the fabric at the back as shown so it is open. We call this an optional knee hole.
Having a knee hole on a fitted table cover is preferable on a fitted tablecloth if you wish to pull up chairs to the back of your table but is also useful if you want to be able to access the inside of the table from the back (for example to store things underneath it).
We will create the artwork template for your table with or without the cut out knee hole depending on the option you select when ordering.
How To Measure your Table For A Printed Fitted Table Cover
Take a measurement of the width of the table top (left to right) when standing in front of the table. Make sure that your table does not have legs that stand outside of the table top. If this is the case, a printed fitted table cover will not be suitable for use with your table.
Take the measurement of the depth of the table top (front to back). Again, ensure that your table does not have legs that stand outside of the table top.
Take a height measurement from the top of the table to the floor. We will normally size fitted table covers so they finish a few cm or so from the floor but if you want a larger gap between the bottom of your cover and the floor, please contact us after ordering to discuss.

Can I wash a printed fitted table cover - Yes, you can wash them at up to 40 degrees C in a conventional maching with detergent. Air dry only after washing.
