Adhesive floor decals can be produced in almost any size and shape and are a cost-effective and simple method of grabbing attention at exhibitions and events. They can also be used to provide directional instructions for retail spaces, supermarkets or any public area where guidance is required. We offer floor vinyl in three different types of material which can be used on smooth, carpeted or even concrete flooring.
Smooth Flooring
For smooth indoor flooring, we use floor-graded adhesive vinyl which is matched with slip-resistant lamination and also provides good scratch resistance against high-traffic areas including shops, schools or even warehousing.
The vinyl is opaque to prevent show-through on marked or patterned flooring, the laminate holds an awarded R11 rating for durability and safety.
When it comes to removing the vinyl there is no special technique needed, simply peel back the graphic from one edge and no residue will be left from the adhesive backing.
Carpeted Flooring
When using floor graphics on carpeted flooring you need to use a high tack adhesive vinyl that is strong enough to latch onto the fibres of the carpet. Our gloss high tack permanent adhesive vinyl offers a super high tac adhesive which is ideal to use on carpeted surfaces.
When applying to fibrous surfaces the adhesion needs to be strong enough to hold as the surface is not completely smooth. We would always recommend testing an area before applying the vinyl just to ensure the carpet is securely fixed to the floor avoiding potential damage once removed.
The vinyl is also laminated with a slip-resistant coating providing extra durability and safety.
Concrete Flooring
We use a multisurface textured vinyl which is 150 microns thick and is suitable for use on most floor surfaces including concrete and stone flooring. The longevity of the product will depend on the level of traffic and how the material is applied to the surface.
To receive the best results we recommend cleaning the floor of any dirt or grit and then heating the floor using a heat gun. Applying it afterwards will make the adhesive bond form much better to the concrete surface. The material can be applied cold but you will not receive the same results and could potentially lift at the edges.
The material is also laminated using a slip-resistant laminate to provide extra durability and safety.
Application and Removal of Floor graphics
Under our downloads tab, we have created a document that helps with the application and removal of our floor graphics. This will help you in securing the graphics in the best possible manner which will help with the longevity of the material.
There is also guidance for the removal of the vinyl to ensure your flooring is cleaned appropriately afterwards. This is guidance only and in some cases, may require extra treatment depending on the type of flooring the vinyls are being applied to.
