Magnetic graphics are popular for temporary vehicle signage and also for use with magnetic point of sale poster displays. We offer a choice of magnetic graphic material for general or vehicle use. Magnetic graphics can be printed in sizes up to 1250mm wide x lengths of up to 10 Metres and can be contour cut to shape on request.
Magnetic Graphics Options
Our printed magnetic graphics are produced using high quality magnetic base material with a printable vinyl top coat designed for UV digital printing.
The material has a slight lustre but is not overly glossy which makes it ideal for the production of general display graphics.
Magnetic material is available in a choice of two material thicknesses. 0.6mm is ideal for general magnetic graphics and has a holding force of 40g/cm2 whereas our thicker 0.85mm material is designed for vehicle graphics and has a stronger holding force of 55g/cm2.
Applications For Magnetic Graphics
Printed magnetic graphics can be applied to any relatively flat ferrous metal surface. They are not designed for application around heavily curved surfaces or angled corners because the material is not sufficiently flexible.
There are countless applications for the use of magnetic graphics and these include magnetic posters for retail displays, temporary removable magnetic vehicle graphics, fridge magnets, magnetic decals and more.
Magnetic graphics can be contour cut after printing to almost any finished shape. If you require contour cutting, please refer to our downloadable artwork instructions that provide information about how to set up your file for printing and contour cutting.
Quality Digital Magnetic Vinyl Printing
Magnetic vinyl is printed with a UV digital process. This involves printing liquid ink onto the magnetic vinyl that is immediately exposed to powerful UV light, hardening the ink into a flexible solid layer.
Printed magnetic vinyl is resistant to fading and it's waterproof so it can be used indoors or outdoors.
We can print at resolutions of up to 1800x1800 dpi to provide photo realistic quality results for all types of artwork whether it be magnetic photos or simple magnetic vehicle graphics.
Our maximum print size is up to 1250mm wide by any continuous length of up to 10 Metres. We offer magnetic vinyl printing at standard A sizes or almost any custom size.
Applying Magnetic Graphics To Vehicles
Our thicker 0.85mm grade magnetic vinyl with increased grab strength is specifically designed for use on vehicles where it can be applied and removed in seconds. Magnetic graphics are for temporary use and not designed for high speed road use.
When fitting magnetic graphics to vehicles we recommend the folowing:
Avoid applying to newly painted surfaces that could be soft
Do not apply to sorfaces that can become heated to high temperatures
Clean and polish the area that you are applyng the magnetic decal to before installation to avoid trapping dirt that could scratch the painted surface.
For maximum grip, the entire magnetic surface should be in contact with the metal surface
Regularly remove and clean the magnetic vinyl using warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly before re-applying
Do not use on body panels that are not wholly metal (part plastic or panels that have been filled/repaired)
When not in use, store the magnetic decal flat
Optional Lamination For Magnetic Graphics
Magnetic graphics are waterproof and UV stable, they are relatively resistant to scratches for general use.
For use on vehicles or circumstances whereby graphics need to be cleaned, we recommend that graphics should be laminated that will provide increased durability and help to prevent accidental scratching.
Lamination is available in a choice of a standard gloss, textured scratch resistant crystal finish or a gloss 'dry-wipe' finish that is specifically designed for use with dry-wipe markerboard pens.
Our dry wipe lamination can be used in conjunction with our printable magnetic vinyl to create things like wall planners, reward charts etc that can be applied to metal surfaces such as a fridge for example.
